What We Believe About the Holy Scriptures
About the Scriptures as the Word of God:
We believe that the Holy Bible contains the full revelation of God and it should be the final and absolute authority in the church, our actions and decisions, and our daily lives. We believe that he Scriptures have one Divine Author (God), and specific human writers. Holy men of God wrote as they were moved and guided by the Holy Spirit (II Pet. 1:20-21). God, who authors Scripture, is perfect and the truths that the Scriptures contain are perfect as well (Ps. 19:8-9). We do not believe that any other books or writing are to be considered as Scripture except the writing recorded in the Holy Bible. Therefore, we believe that the Bible is the only holy and perfect record of God’s revelation to man. It is without any mixture of error and is completely infallible (Ps. 119:128; John 17:17).
About the Scripture as the Standard of Life:
We believe that the Bible should serve as the standard by which Christians should live their lives. No other influence should be greater in the life of a believer than the influences, doctrines and belief systems of Scripture (Gal. 1:6-9). All Christian and more conduct persuasions, and lifestyles should measure up with, and be guided by the precepts and principles of the Word of God (Ps. 119:11-24;Ps. 119:105-106, Rom. 15:4).
About the Scriptures as the Standard of Church Ministry:
We believe that the Bible also serves as the standard by which the Church is governed and operated (I Tim. 3:14-15). The ministry of the Church, as a whole, should meet the test of Scripture and be measured in value and worth by its agreement with the Word of God. We also believe that the preaching and teaching of the Church are to be based solely upon the truths and doctrines of the Word of God (I Pet. 4:11). The scripture serve as the foundation for all teachings, convictions, correction and instruction (II Tim. 3:16-17).
