Kenneth & Bettye’s Story

We are most impressed by the fact all of the sermons preached or taught at New Life are supported by an actual excerpt from the Bible. Pastor Harris does not change the words of the Bible to fit his text but makes sure we understand that what he is saying are not his words but God’s words. He is forever attempting to teach us how to live victorious Christian lives.

When I am discussing how Pastor Harris differs from the average minister, my favorite statement is: “He does not tell us what we did on last Saturday night, but he tells us how to keep from doing it again on next Saturday night”.

One sermon that sticks out for us was the one he preached regarding forgiving ourselves for the previous mistakes we’ve made in our lives that affected the lives of our loved ones. He talked about how we are forever trying to make up for things that happened that may or may not have been our fault. In the sermon he explained that we couldn’t move on and recover from the mistakes until we forgave ourselves and ask the forgiveness of the other party.
