PURPOSE STATEMENT
Circling the Black Dollar is a bold, community empowerment initiative designed to promote African American financial independence and economic sustainability. Through planned events and supporting outreach tools like a Minority-Owned Business Directory, this initiative will connect community members with local Black-owned businesses, encourage economic solidarity, and foster lasting financial empowerment.
This initiative also aligns with the church's broader Social Justice Ministry by offering long-term strategies for economic stability, systemic change, and faith-informed advocacy. The first event is a starting point for what we hope becomes a movement rooted in equity, sustainability, and spiritual empowerment.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Black dollar typically leaves the community within 6 hours
- Economic instability contributes to broader disparities in housing, education, and health
- Strengthening Black businesses strengthens Black families and communities
- The Church has a role in promoting justice through economic empowerment
This ministry also creates a unique opportunity for the church to lead with its values—providing not just charity, but capacity-building and economic dignity. By engaging the church community and surrounding neighborhoods, this initiative becomes a shared responsibility and a vehicle for true transformation.
